About the MAKE-WEBSITE.COM team
This site was put together in consultation with people who are complete newbies to website creation. Now is the time to make your own website - it's never been easier!
We are a team of two content writers who muddled our way through creating our first websites!
We endured site builder forums where it is a crime to be a stupid noobie (where you are expected to stay silent and learn by osmosis), we read site optimization information until our eyes bled, and we were dumbfounded at the lack of support that the first couple of web hosts provided.
(We're happy to say that there are site builder forums out there that are extremely friendly and helpful. And the information about website optimization does become crystal clear after a while!)
We had the idea of putting together some site building information for our clients. Quite a few of our clients for whom we were writing content wanted the control of putting together their own websites.
We found ourselves repeating the same tips, tricks and cautions to each client.
We tried referring them to online website creation guides, but they often found them too technical or overwhelming.
We decided to create this resource - with clear, easy-to-understand guides.
There is no way of including absolutely everything there is to know - as the amount of information out there would fill a library!
We have kept the information to the making of a website through the use of a site builder, blog or content management system.
We don't know html or php to any expert degree ourselves, so if you want to learn these - take a hike!
Well, at least take a hike to our resources page, which has links to beginner tutorials.
(If you have no intent on learning html or php, or even flash, we're sorry to tell you that doesn't mean you won't be using them - often - because you most probably will! So it does pay to a little familiar with the basics)

We simply called this page Website questions as a few of our clients who were new to the internet did not know what a FAQ page was!
We're still muddling - each new site builder we try brings a new set of things to learn. But sometimes, the best beginners guide is written by someone who has just been there.
