Hobbies
Do you like skateboarding, bodyboarding, bicycling, bush-walking, dancing, reading, writing, model-making, pottery, painting, scrapbooking, photography - or any other hobbies?
You could give other people tips and clues, and show off your work. |
| · |
Your sports team
You could make a website about the team you play for - with photos of games and trips away.
You can make the site password-protected so that only members of your team can enter.
Be sure to ask your coach if it's okay to make a team site before you get started.

Where you live
There are lots of cool things about every single place in the world - even if you think where you live is pretty boring. You could write about what's amazing, funny or whacky about the place you live in - and include lots of location photos!
|
| · |
Pets
Love your pets? Make a website all about them!
|
| · |
Poems or stories
Do you like writing? Share them your poetry and stories with other kids.
|
| · |
Reviews
You could start a review site about your favourite movies, books, console games, pets and hobbies.
|
| · |
Love animals?
Collect photos, drawings and interesting facts about your favourite animals, and put them all on a website.
|
Don't overload your website with animation or flashing objects though - and if you do add sound - make sure you add a 'turn me off' button.
It can become confusing or annoying to have too much happening on the one page - and don't expect everyone to like your taste in music!
Also - if you up with load images, video and music with high kilobytes, your site can take forever to download for someone on a dialup or slower broadband connection.
(Right-click on the photo of the skateboarding monster above. Scroll down to Properties, then look at the Size - this tells you how many kilobytes the image has. This size of this image is 4789 bytes. Because there are 1000 bytes in every kilobyte, 4789 bytes is almost 5 kilobytes.)
That's probably not a question that you would have asked!
It depends on whether your website is private or public and on what your parent or caregiver thinks is okay.
If it's a public website (that anyone can read) you should not give your address, phone number, or tell which school you go to or where you play.
Your parents or carer should be aware of all of the sites that you visit.

Always tell your parents or caregiver before you start your own website.
If mum, dad or your carer need more information about kid's safety online - there are lots of resources on the internet.
